2015 Winter Junior Seasion - Info and Team Codes
Junior Winter Season
The 2015 Junior Winter season will start on Thursday 14th May (U14, U16 and U18) and Friday 15th May (U10 and U12). The season will run for 15 weeks, plus finals. There are no sign on or grading games this season - Round 1 will begin on the 14th and 15th May.
Please note that due to clashes with QBL (Rockets & Cyclones) games three of our Friday night rounds have been rescheduled to be played on Wednesday nights. Unfortunately this is outside of our control as Basketball Queensland has the final say on the QBL draw.
Friday 22nd May - will be played on WEDNESDAY 20th May
Friday 29th May - will be played on WEDNESDAY 27th May
Friday 7th August - will be played on WEDNESDAY 5th August
We have also rescheduled games that were due to be played on Rockhampton Show Day. These will also be played on a Wednesday as outlined below.
Thursday 11th June – will be played on WEDNESDAY 10th June
Team Nominations are required by Friday 1st May - Clubs are required to complete forms and return to RBI office in person or via email admin@rockhamptonbasketball.com.au. We have attached a copy of Team Nomination Forms below.
Each team is required to have a minimum of 6 core players.
Fees for the 2015 Winter Season will be $190 for a Junior Membership and $150 for an U10 Membership. This is a slight increase on 2014 fees. Unfortunately due to increased running costs we were not able to sustain the existing membership prices for another year, however we have tried to keep changes to an absolute minimum. Please also note that this new membership rate absorbs the 3.9% sporting pulse registration fee so there will no longer be any extra charges when you finalize your payment.
Player registrations will need to be finalized by Friday 8th May.
Registration is now open online at www.rockhamptonbasketball.com.au. Simply click on the icon in the top right hand corner of the screen. Team codes are included as an attachment below.
If you are unable to register online a $20 processing fee will apply for manual transactions. Players will also need to complete a paper-based registration form so that details can be transferred onto the online system.
Stadium Scoring will be used in all junior games this season. Stadium Scoring is a computer based scoring system that will replace paper scoresheets. As such all players must be registered well before competition start dates so that we can ensure that our laptops are ready for the start of the season.
It will also be critical for teams and score bench people to be ready prior to scheduled start times each week to ensure all team details are correctly input into stadium scoring.
Games Times
Games will be set at the following times. Once team numbers are finalized draws will be auto-created using the Sporting Pulse software. Requests for changes to the draw will not be considered. Unfortunately we will not know the final timeslots for each age group until all team entries are in.
Thursday: 4.00pm, 4.55pm, 5.50pm, 6.45pm, 7.40pm and 8.35pm.
Friday: 4.50pm, 5.30pm, 6.20pm and 7.10pm
Courts
Although the restoration work on Brady court will continue throughout the year, we are confident that the 6 week drying process implemented after Cyclone Marcia restored the court to a point where we can again utilize if for games. This will allow us to have scheduled games finish at appropriate times.
