Kickz101 Perth' SBL Players of the Week

The week six “Kickz101 Perth” Women’s SBL Player of the Week has been awarded to Samantha Whitcomb of the Orange Autos Rockingham Flames.

The Rockingham Flames extended their undefeated winning streak over the weekend with two outstanding performances from 2013 league MVP, Samantha Whitcomb 

On Thursday night the Rockingham Flames hosted the star studded line-up of the Cockburn Cougars at Mike Barnett Sports Complex. Whitcomb was unstoppable for the home side recording 26 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists to lead the Flames to a resounding twenty-eight point victory over the Cougars.

Saturday night seen the Flames travel to Ray Owen Sports Centre to take on 2013 grand finalists, the Kalamunda Eastern Suns. Whitcomb proved the difference again gathering 19 points, 10 rebounds and 8 assists as the Rockingham Flames defeated Kalamunda 94 to 64.  

The Flames now hold a 7-0 record and sit top of the Women’s SBL ladder.

The week six “Kickz101 Perth” Men’s SBL Player of the Week has been awarded to Cooper Land of the Orange Autos Rockingham Flames.

Flames import Cooper Land continued his sensational form on the weekend to help his team retain the number one spot on the Men’s SBL ladder.

The Flames first match up of their weekend double-header saw them host the Cougars at Mike Barnett Sports Complex. Cooper Land led all scorers to record 27 points, 14 rebounds and 1 assist as Rockingham defeated Cockburn 102-85.

On Saturday night Rockingham visited Ray Owen Sports Centre to take on the Kalamunda Eastern Suns. The Flames extended their winning streak to eight games with a twenty-nine point victory 102-73. Cooper Land was outstanding again for Rockingham with 28 points, 7 rebounds, 2 assists and 3 blocks.
