WSBL Player of the Week
THE week nine Women’s SBL Player of the Week has been awarded Stacey Barr of the P&J Financial Solutions Kalamunda Eastern Suns.
Eastern Suns recruit Stacey Barr has again put her hand up as an MVP candidate this year with another stunning performance on the weekend.
On Sunday, Barr scored a game high 33 points which included six triples to go along with 3 rebounds, 6 assists and a huge 8 steals as she led her team to an impressive 93 to 58 win over the Perry Lakes Hawks.
Barr is one of the top scorers in the SBL with 25.5 points per game, however it is her defensive pressure which has been ultra-impressive leading the league in steals alongside Sami Whitcomb with 3.3 per game.
With the recent addition of fellow Perth Lynx teammate Carley Mijovic up the hill to Kalamunda, the currently eighth placed Eastern Suns are looking like a dangerous team in 2016 and could push for a top four spot by season end.
