Summer domestic teams and training information

Teams and training times for the Summer domestic season are available in the attachments below. We have 843 players in 105 teams, the most ever!

Fixtures

The first game of the season is Saturday 10th October. Fixtures are available on the EDJBA website.

You can also find your fixture through the Collingwood teams section of the website:

  • Scroll down and find the team number and gender eg Collingwood 5
  • Find the age eg Girls U12
  • Click on Fixture
  • Find the correct date, and note the time and venue
  • Click on the venue for the address, Melway reference and map

Fixtures for rounds 2 – 7 will be available each week (about Tuesday evening or Wednesday), then fixtures for the remainder of the season will be available after round 7.

There is also a Venues list which contains the address of most venues. If you can't find the venue in the PDF document, check for it here

Players need to bring a game fee of $7.50. This needs to be collected by the team manager or another parent and left at the scorebench by half time.

Uniforms

If anyone still needs a uniform, they will be available at Collingwood College, McCutcheon Way, Collingwood at the following times:

  • Friday 9th October 7.00 - 9.00 pm
  • Saturday 10th October 9.15 - 1.00 pm

Singlets are $50 and shorts are $40, and payment can be made by EFTPOS, cash or cheque.

Scoring and Timing

During this season, the EDJBA is introducing stadium scoring. This means a laptop computer will replace the paper scoresheet on the scorebench. Stadium scoring is being gradually introduced by clubs, and some venues will have stadium scoring from round 1. We expect that there will be someone to assist at each venue at least initially. We will have stadium scoring for most games at Fitzroy High School.

More information about stadium scoring is available in the document below and via this video (you won't need to do all this though!). Scoresheets will still be available at the venue and will be used as a backup if required.

  • If scoresheets are being used, they will be pre-printed with player names and numbers. If you need to add players, both FIRST and LAST name must be written legibly. If singlet numbers are missing, please write them in
  • The coach’s name needs to be written on the scoresheet. This is compulsory (or fines will be payable). If there is no coach, write “NO COACH”
  • Complete the scoresheet in player number order if hand writing the player list
  • If any players or singlet numbers are missing from the pre-printed scoresheet or are incorrect, please email manager@collingwoodbasketball.com.au

The clock stops on ALL whistles in the last TWO minutes of the second half. The Mercy rule is not applicable in the first six rounds which are grading rounds.

Coaches and Team Managers

We have quite a number of teams who need coaches or team managers. Please email manager@collingwoodbasketball.com.au if you are able to help.
