Support Akech to complete the basketball court in South Sudan

Akech Manyiel, our Community Liaison Officer, is building a basketball court in his home town of Yirol in South Sudan. Our club, Spensley Street Primary School and Fitzroy Rotary, have previously supported Akech’s project and last Summer he managed to get the court area set out with a base of rocks and soil, and the backboards and rings in place. But the court needs to be cemented so that the surface doesn’t get washed away in the rainy seasons, and /or grown over by grass.

Akech's colleague at Spensley Street Primary School, Narelle, has set up a crowdfunding campaign to raise money so that Akech can get the court finished this Summer.

Photos showing the building of the court are on our Facebook page

It would be great if you can read more about Akech’s story and consider making a contribution to the crowdfunding campaign https://www.gofundme.com/bballsouthsudan so that the court can be used by the young people of Yirol.
