Redbacks Cast Cloud Over Suns

The Perth Redbacks’ Men’s State Basketball League had a strong 102 to 95 home game win against the Kalamunda Eastern Suns.

The Redbacks’ men now have 12 wins and nine losses and are in fourth-place in the 14-team competition.

Redbacks’ point guard Joel Wagner put in 25 points at a strong field goal percentage of 86 along with four assists and three steals.

Forward Stan Okoye scored 26 and brought down 19 rebounds while power-forward Lee Roberts had 16 points, 10 rebounds, four assists and three steals.

The Redbacks women’s team lost to the Suns 65 to 98.

Point guard Gabby O’Sullivan was their top-scorer with 18 along with five rebounds, three steals and two assists.

Forward Jess Jakens had 15 points, after putting in seven from eight shots, along with four rebounds, two assists and two steals.

The Redbacks’ women’s team are in 12th place in the 12-team competition with no wins and 18 losses.

The Redbacks’ men travel to Geraldton this Saturday where they will take on the top-placed Geraldton Buccaneers, while the women’s team has a bye.
