Round eight of matches promises to be a beauty and it will be an opportunity for some teams to make a real statement.
The round is likely to give us some answers about which teams are the real deal and the ones that may struggle to have an impact.
The match of the round will be between first placed – Nagambie and fourth placed – Stanhope.
Nagambie is unbeaten and it is well led by interleague stars Abby Misti and Katie Sullivan.
Both girls were instrumental in helping the league defeated the Golden Rivers Netball League last weekend.
For Stanhope this is a huge challenge and Kerrie Gray will be desperate to see her girls give a really good account of themselves.
Young star Casey Livingston has been in very good form and she like Misty and Sullivan played a key role the league’s win over the GRNL.
The Lions have been in really good form since the opening day slip up to Avenel and they will confident of matching the unbeaten Lakers after victories against higher echelon teams Lancaster and Violet Town.
Nagambie is on an amazing run of victories, last losing to Avenel around this time last year.
Not much should separate these teams in the final wash up, but I’m going for the visitors by about 10 goals.
The other intriguing match-up is the one involving the improved Murchison outfit and one of the premiership fancies Tallygaroopna.
Tallygaroopna has been a powerhouse of the competition, coming close in the past two years to claiming the ultimate prize.
Julie Telford is leading by example while Bree Giles and Kayla Woodhouse are two other girls playing at the top of their game.
Murchison has improved under Phil Bryant, but in their biggest test against Nagambie they fell short.
Bryant will be eager to see his girls take the game on and make every post a winner, but this won’t be easy against a very good Redlegs’ outfit.
Violet Town will be looking to put some distance between itself and the challengers outside the top six.
It comes up against a Girgarre team that has really improved this year.
Despite consecutive losses, Girgarre will not fear the trip to Violet Town.
Pip O’Donoghue knows the importance of this game as a win would put them well clear of their rivals.
In other matches, Merrigum will be chasing its third win of the season to remain in touch with the top six when taking on Ardmona; Lancaster will be out to build on its low percentage when travelling to Longwood while Rushworth and Undera will go in search of their second win of the year.
My tips: Undera, Merrigum, Lancaster, Nagambie, Tallygaroopna and Violet Town.
