Big V 2014 Coaches Appointed
Hawthorn Magic is very pleased to announce the appointment of its Head Coaches for the 2014 Big V season.
Our division 1 Men have signal their intention to move into state championship men next season. The club has has re-appointed Glenn Rees as coach who is coming into his 10th season at the club. “I am looking for to the challenges in 2014, with the request to move up a division it makes for an exciting time at the club” said Rees.
The club has also appointed Maheala Jackson to lead our division 1 women, taking over from Zac Natoli who will focus on his playing commitments next season. Maheala joins us after a decorated career playing for Mildura.
After a successful 2 years under Darryl McDonald the VYCM will be taken over by assistant coach Charlie Fyffe. Darryl has stepped away from Big V to focus on his NBL commitments. “I’m very excited to begin coaching the VYCM at Hawthorn. The club has had fantastic results in the past two years and I plan to continue the hard work that got us that success” said Fyffe.
Hannah Lowe will be taking control of the Youth League women for the 2nd straight season after coming runner-up last season. A club champion in her playing days, Hannah has been nothing but excellent since taking over the coaching role at Magic. After finishing 2nd in Youth League 1 the women have applied to be promoted to VYCW.
VYCM start try-outs on September 30 and more details will follow on the other teams.
