Interleague weekend wasn’t as successful as we would have liked it to be with the result but on all other fronts it was a big success.
Despite no under 18 game being played their was a good crowd that turned up to see the big clash of 1 v 2.
This can be attributed to the active promotion from all our media partners throughout the week leading up to the game.
Shepparton Newspapers continually provide amazing coverage of the GOTAFE GVFL throughout the season and we also ask clubs to assist in providing them with content (player milestones etc).
Win TV support the GOTAFE GVFL with promotion of the weekly games throughout the season. The additional support Win TV give through their news team is also fantastic with the GOTAFE GVFL a constant segment throughout the week.
98.5 One FM broadcast the weekly games, have a Saturday morning show and a pregame show which highlights the GOTAFE GVFL competition. The in-depth previews and opportunity to hear from players, coaches and administrators themselves is a great promotion for not only the league but clubs also.
The GOTAFE GVFL Footy Show which is on YouTube once a week provides commentary from a group of guys who know the history of the league having been around it for a long time. Their previews, reviews and interviews are insightful and some new segments enabling the viewers to be a part of the show.
And finally the social media footprint of the GOTAFE GVFL has grown with the league having more of a presence on facebook, twitter and its own website. The engagement of fans/supporters of the league on social media is growing and we want to encourage everyone to get involved in these media streams as they are only growing bigger and stronger. Tweet a picture of your favourite player but don’t forget to tag us in, comment on a story on the GOTAFE GVFL Facebook page.
A few new opportunities are opening up in the future through the advent of live streaming games (interleague this week was received well), and also stories about the league through various other media programs.
With all these media streams working together this league will continue to grow and prosper but we still need your help.
Any ideas on how to improve our coverage/exposure, any thoughts on what GOTAFE GVFL stories you would like to read, hear or see we would like to know.
Please tweet @gvfl1, send us a message on facebook , email the league simon.devine@aflgoulburnmurray.com.au or let your club committee know and they will pass it on.
