Ex-Geelong player George Burbury showed his class against Echuca last week.
The former Cat played his best game for the Eagles and finished with seven goals.
He was ably supported by Chris Gallagher, Tom Balcombe, Benjamin Fagan, Dale Ayres and Jesse Plostins as the Eagles fought on a determined Echuca outfit.
United was best served by hard working ruckman Shane Neaves.
Neaves was outstanding against the Tigers while Beau Caia, Matthew Rendina, Jayden Goodwin, Shannon Campbell and James Lloyd all tried hard to get the Demons over the line in the last quarter.
Co-coach Brendan Vanderdonk was a little disappointed his boys couldn’t execute their skills a little better in the final quarter with the game in the balance.
In a further blow for the Demons, co-coach Tim Looby looked to be sore and finished the game on the bench, placing him in doubt to make the high country.
