The Bendigo Bank Maryborough Castlemaine District Football Netball League announces two venue changes for this weekend’s Round 2 action.
Due to redevelopment works at both the Newstead Recreation Reserve and Natte Yallock Recreation Reserve, the league has moved both the Newstead v Avoca and Natte Bealiba v Carisbrook matches being played on Saturday 26th April.
The Newstead v Avoca match will be played at Camp Reserve, Castlemaine and the Natte Bealiba v Carisbrook match will be played at Princes Park, Maryborough.
MCDFNL Operations Manager Scott Carey mentioned that with renovations still to be completed at both scheduled home venues rendering them currently unusable, it was a luxury to be able to transfer these games to such quality grounds.
“We’ve been extremely lucky to be able to transfer these matches to the two premier grounds in our district,” Carey said.
“Both the Maryborough Football Netball Club and the Castlemaine Football Netball Club have been very generous in letting our clubs use their venues, and we thank them, along with the Central Goldfields and Mount Alexander Shire Councils enormously”.
Carey mentioned that whilst he’s hoping these are the only fixtures that need to be transferred, this will be dependent on the new facilities at both grounds being completed as per the provided schedules.
“Whilst we’re hoping that both Natte Bealiba and Newstead are enjoying their fantastic new rooms very, very soon, we’re aware that there may be the need to transfer other games should the buildings not be completed before their next scheduled home fixtures,” Carey said.
“If further fixture changes are required, competing clubs will be advised as soon as the requirement for a change is known”.
Both the Newstead v Avoca and Natte Bealiba v Carisbrook matches will be played as per normal scheduled times this Saturday.
