During the finals weekend, the WNWBL award winners were named with three clubs represented.

In combination with the 3-point MVP award, Sarah Stewart of the Sydney University Flames was named the overall league MVP.

Stewart went close to averaging a double-double for the year with 9.4 points, 9.6 rebounds while finishing second in the competition for assists with six per contest.

She shot 33% from the field and was inspirational in the bronze medal game last weekend, recording a season-high 26 points to go with 15 assists and six steals.

The 1-point MVP was awarded to Sarah Vinci of the Be Active Western Stars, who averaged 5.3 points and 3.5 rebounds per game in another impressive WNWBL campaign while she recorded six points and three steals in the Grand Final.

The Sydney Metro Blues were represented by Kylie Gauci (11.5 points per game) who took out the 2-point MVP after averaging double-figures in scoring for the seventh straight season.

She also finished fourth in assists for the competition with 5.2 a game and hit nine three-pointers for the season, six more than any other player.

The 4-point MVP was taken out by Amber Merritt of the Western Stars, the league’s top scorer.

With 30.4 points per contest, she averaged ten points more than any player and 11.5 points more than any player from an opposition team.

With ten double-doubles for the year, Merritt also finished third in the league for rebounds (11.5) while collecting 4.7 assists and she scored over 40 points four times with a season high 51 coming against Kilsyth in Round 3.

The forward was also the finals series MVP after scoring 43 points in the Semi-Final before finishing with an average of 33.3 points, 14.5 rebounds and 3.5 assists for the weekend.

Rounding out the All Star Five alongside those four MVP winners was Bridie Kean from the Sydney Metro Blues.

She was the team’s leader in points (18.5), rebounds (10.7) and assists (3.4) and was the league’s best free-throw shooter with 38 (five more than any other player) at a 70% clip.

Finally, Annabelle Lindsay took out the Youth award after making the move from SEABL this year.

She shot at 41% from the field overall, averaging 8.6 points and 7.2 rebounds.
