2012 Sport For Women Day

Touch Football will be one of the sports involved in the 2012 Sport For Women Day this Sunday, which will be held at Stage 88 in Canberra.

Sport for Women Day is a celebration of women’s sport, women’s health, fitness activities and women’s lifestyles. It is for women of all ages and abilities promoting unity and inclusion.

The 2012 event will see thousands of school children take part in a choreographed dance routine, while several sports, including Touch Football, will have areas set up throughout the day for people to try out the respective sports.

The first ever Sport For Women Day was held on Sunday, 6 March 2011, with the day supported by over 150 elite sports stars, bringing the community together to promote the benefits of active lifestyles and raise awareness about women’s health.

Comment Guidelines: The SportingPulse Network is made up of players, families and passionate sports followers like you who have a strong opinion about sport. That's great - we want you to have your say and share your thoughts with the world. However, we have a few rules that you must follow to keep it fun for all. Please don't be rude, abusive, swear or vilify others. Apart from some pretty serious sport sanctions, we also can ban you and report you if things get out of hand. So play fair and have fun, and thanks for your contribution.
