The unforgiving circuit took its toll on the #55 Bottle-O Commodore early on in the first practice session when locked rears sent the green machine into the wall at turn two.
'The hit put us out of the remainder of practice A and the majority of practice B. We got back out there squeezing in one lap in practice B before the session came to an end'.
The final session enabled to team to tweak the car. Turn two got a new paint job in Bottle-O green when the rear of #55 snapped out and clipped the wall. Superficial panel damage was promptly fixed and the Bottle-O Commodore finished the session in the mid 20's.
'We made some changes to the balance and dampers, which should help us with qualifying.'
The 20 minute qualifying session had the full 30 car field on the track. Green tyres got the green machine up into 23rd position for race one tomorrow.
'We had a rough day. We didn't really get much time out there to set some solid times. The changes we made between practice and qualifying were beneficial. Its the second time I have ever raced on this track and it is just as challenging as the first. But I have always enjoyed a challenge and am looking forward to the races tomorrow'.
Race one begins at 11.25am before race two at 3.15pm.
