Sprinkles of rain came and went before practice A, in what turned out to be 3 eventful practice sessions on day one for the V8 Supercars.
Going out on wets to road the tyres, they were soon taken off on the first stop and dries on to get the session going.
'We are running a similar set up to last year as it worked well for us, and will hopefully do the same this year'.
Consistent times to keep The Bottle - O Commodore in the top 15 were pumped out, but with a flat spot on the right front late in the session #55 sat out the last few minutes, as by the time the tyres were changed and up to temperature the session would have been over.
Practice B had T.D set a time of 1.11.3631 in a session that was red flagged twice. A slight vibration formed which led to a steering rack change which in turn ate up the first 30 minutes of practice C, leaving 20 minutes remaining.
Back out on the track The Bottle - O Commodore steped up a notch and steadily kept improving its times to set a 1.10.5123 with 1 minute remaining to finish the session in tenth.
'It was a big task to do a steering rack change in such a short period, but the boys did a fantastic job. We didn't even use green tyres today, so I think better things are to come. I am very happy with the car and feel confident we can produce good results tomorrow'.
Day two begins with qualifying at 11am, before race one of the round at 4.05pm.
