Holroyd Council hail Community Connections day a success

Holroyd City Council Disability Services Officer, Mr Paul Spiteri, has hailed the recent NSWRL Community Connections Rugby League day in Holroyd a ‘huge success'.

The day, which featured over 60 participants, involved in passing competitions, goal kicking drills, side stepping and try-scoring stations as well as a visit from Rugby League legend Mario Fenech.

“Days like today couldn’t happen unless the New South Wales Rugby League and ARL Development were here to assist,” Spiteri said.

“Programs like this fit in with Holroyd’s disabilities department’s objectives of getting people with special needs outside and active with a game they love.”

Two more programs with similar objectives are currently being organised.

The one day programs will be held at Centrebet Stadium on April 7 and at Parramatta Stadium on May 26.
