Burundi to Face Sierra Leone in Final

The 2014 African Nations Cup was held at Burton Park Football Centre this past weekend, with 12 teams competing in the tournament.

Held on both Saturday 18 and Sunday 19 October, the event drew representatives from South Sudan, Burundi, Nigeria, Ethiopia, Tanzania, Ghana and Sierra Leone as well as new entries Zimbabwe, DR Congo, Eritrea, South Africa and Uganda.

The 2013 Cup winners South Sudan did not qualify to defend their title in the Grand Final, however will play against South Africa in the 3 v 4 place match to be held this coming Sunday 26th of October.

Burundi and Sierra Leone will face off in the Grand Final at Adelaide Shores Football Centre after they both qualified Sunday afternoon in the Semi-Finals.

Prior to the Grand Final, an African women’s exhibition match will be played.

10:00am South Africa v South Sudan

12:00pm Women's exhibition match

1:30pm Burundi v Sierra Leone
