International SC to host Regional Round fixture

Football Federation SA (FFSA) is pleased to announce International Soccer Club will host the 2015 PlayStation 4 National Premier League (NPL) South Australia Regional Round fixture between MetroStars and Adelaide City.

Following the success of the 2014 Regional Round fixture, two PlayStation 4 NPL sides will again play a match for competition points in Mount Gambier.

Held on Saturday 14 March 2015, the ‘Mount’ couldn’t ask for a better fixture in MetroStars and Adelaide City.

Crowned the 2014 PlayStation 4 National Champions of Australia, MetroStars will be a fierce contender in the local PlayStation 4 NPL competition this season along side Adelaide City who also saw national success in 2014 with their Westfield FFA Cup campaign. The black and whites were the only Member Federation side to knock-out an A-League club (Western Sydney Wanderers) in the inaugural competition.

In their first Regional Round fixture since its inception, both sides are looking forward to taking their game to Mount Gambier and to International Soccer Club.

Football Federation SA Chief Executive Officer Michael Carter outlined the benefit of the regional round to local associations, clubs and players.

“There are a number of objectives with the regional round including connecting local clubs with regional centres, promoting participation and the player pathway open to young regionally based players and fundraising for local clubs and associations.

“International Soccer Club have held large events in the past and we are delighted to announce that they will host the 2015 blockbuster between arguably two of the highest profile clubs from Adelaide.”

International Soccer Club Sports Director Linda McRobert said that they are delighted to host this high profile fixture.

“International Soccer Club are proud to be associated with the FFSA’s initiative in taking PlayStation4 NPL matches to the regional areas.

“The match between MetroStars SC and Adelaide City here in Mt Gambier on March 14th will be a great match to have here and a  fantastic way to showcase and promote our sport to our community.

“Working with the Western Border Soccer Association (WBSA) Board, WBSA Clubs and South East Women’s Football Association ensures should that it will be a great success for the region.”

Further information relating to the Regional Round will be released in the lead up to the event. Check www.nplsa.com.au for regular updates.
