Lady Reds Harnwell Excited for Challenge

With the Westfield W-League kick-off fast approaching, recently appointed Head Coach of the Lady Reds Jamie Harnwell has spoken about why he has chosen Adelaide for the 2015/16 season.

“After leaving Perth Glory I wanted to stay in football and stay in coaching. Adelaide came to me with a professional and well thought out offer and gave me the change and a brand new challenge.”

A move from his home town of Perth where he has lived the majority of his life, played professional football for and coached professionally in is a step Harnwell is looking forward to.

“I will be getting out of my comfort zone. Going from knowing everyone’s face to a new environment where I can impress my ideas of football on a new group of players and the club; it is exciting.

The full team is yet to be finalised however the vision is clear.

“There is a lot of thought and work to put in place.

“I will be looking to develop on what Ross (Aloisi) has done the last couple of years. He installed a respect and competitiveness that I will look to continue and develop.

“There is great young South Australian talent which I have seen at the recent NTC Challenge and I look forward to working towards getting the Lady Reds closer to a finals berth.”
