FFSA donating to Cure4CF Foundation

Football Federation SA (FFSA) is delighted to be supporting the Cure 4CF Foundation in the final round of the PlayStation 4 Women’s National Premier League 2016 Season this Friday (26th August).

All gate takings from the Round of 21 games will be donated to the Foundation.

Melissa Haynes, a former Metro United Women’s Football Club player and Junior State Player, is one of 3000 sufferers of cystic fibrosis in Australia – and one of 70,000 people worldwide.

Ms. Haynes, who represented the State during her junior footballing years, is thrilled to have the support of the Federation behind her cause.

“This funding will accelerate finding a cure meaning future lives will be saved which is fantastic,” she said.

Cure4CF Chairman, David Coluccio, “I think the whole community has been inspired by Melissa’s efforts in the Adelaide marathon, 42 kilometres is hard enough for those who enjoy good health but to run this sort of distance with cystic fibrosis is unheard of.”

“It is people like Melissa and her commitment to raise money for Cure4CF that remind us of why we are putting in the effort to find a cure.”

“To have the support of the Football Federation SA as they dedicate the final round of the PlayStation 4 Women’s National Premier Leagues SA to Cure4CF Foundation in support of Melissa is wonderful. Cystic fibrosis is a cruel disease but there’s hope too as we unite toward the ultimate goal of finding a cure.”

FFSA Chief Executive, Michael Carter, believes Friday night will a great sight for all involved.

“Friday night is an opportunity for the State footballing community to come together as one and support this important cause in its research efforts to find a cure for this disease” he said.

Ms. Haynes’s former club Metro United is in action against Adelaide City at 8:00pm following Para Hills Knights vs. Adelaide University at 6:15pm at Elite Systems Football Centre, Cowan Street, Angle Park.

Sturt Marion host Cumberland United at 6:15pm before Fulham United battle West Adelaide to secure a place in the inaugural PlayStation 4 Women’s National Premier League Final Series at 8:00pm at Adelaide Shores Football Centre, West Beach Road, West Beach.

If you’re unable to attend a game on Friday night, donations can be made to Cure4CF via Ms. Haynes’s Everyday Hero profile: https://give.everydayhero.com/au/running-for-a-cause-1 or via the Cure 4CF Foundation website www.cure4cf.org.
