NSW Referees Set For Italian Experience

The second leg of the Australian-Italian referee exchange program has taken shape on Wednesday afternoon as the Australian delegation departed for Italy.

The NSW State League Referees, Benjamin Abraham, Lachlan Keevers and James Tesoriero will be refereeing Serie D games in the Umbria region over the ten day program between September 4th till September 14th.

Travelling along with the referees will be President Robert Colombo, Secretary Wayne Lenardon and Sandro Perticarini from the Technical Committee.

As in the past three exchange programs 2004, 2006 and 2009, the Australian referees will taste Italian football, will experience different cultures, see firsthand the rich history, share administration ideas and have an insight on new techniques to benefit overall the standard of refereeing in this state.

All past exchange programs have been very fruitful for NSW and Australia as it has unearthed very talented referees such as Strebre Delovski, Ryan Shepheard, Kris Griffiths-Jones, Stephen Lucas and Kurt Ams.

President Robert Colombo is hopeful that this edition will unearth more future officials in years to come.
