NEWS: FFV releases official 2016 FFV Competitions Calendar

FOOTBALL Federation Victoria today released the 2016 FFV Competitions calendar, which is available on the official FFV website (www.footballfedvic.com.au) and has revealed that the new Geelong Region Football Committee (GRFC) season will commence on the weekend ending Sunday the 10th of April.

The NPL Men’s competition will be the first competition to commence in 2016, kicking off on the weekend of the 19th-21st of February, while the inaugural WNPL league will take off on the weekend ending the 6th of March.

The Junior Boys’ NPL season commences on the weekend ending the 13th of March, while the FFV Men’s State League competitions will kick off on the weekend ending the 3rd of April. The Women’s State Leagues will start a week later.

Between the 15th and the 25th of January next year, all clubs in the Geelong competition will be asked to provide a draft list of teams to FFV Competitions, so that draft structures can be released.

On Friday 12th of February, team entries will open for clubs to officially confirm their 2016 teams while the early bird closure date for team entries will be Friday 19th February.

Team entries will close for all local competitions on the 4th of March, with a Draft fixture to be released on Tuesday the 15th of March.

Friday 18th of March will be the deadline for clubs to request changes to draft fixture and the Final fixtures will be released on Wednesday the 23rd of March.

Assuming sufficient interest from clubs, it is expected that next year will see the following competitions take place: three Men’s divisions, a newly created Over 35’s Men’s Masters’ league, two Women’s Divisions, a Boys’ U11s, 12s, 15s and 17s divisions and Girls’ U11s, 14s, and 16s divisions in place for the 2016 GRFC season.

Grand Final Day for the various GRFC competitions has been set down for Saturday 10th September (Girls’ and Women) and Sunday 11th September (Men, Boys and Masters).
