Deakin Gold ran out convincing 7-0 winners, proving to be the better side with three of their players getting braces. They included: Nicholas Musarra, Harry Woolley and Christopher De Hoog. The other goal scored for Deakin Gold was by Jake Ball.

Geelong hosted the 2nd placed Barwon Reds at Stead Park on Sunday and managed to take the visitors down 2-0. This is the second loss for the Barwon team this season after their recent loss against Deakin Gold. Unfortunately, the goalscorers for Geelong were not submitted.

Drysdale hosted Barwon Heads in a closely fought encounter that ended up 1-1, yet could have been a much higher scoreline. Both teams had lots of opportunities but were just shy of scoring. Nicholas Hopper netted the goal for Drysdale while Mark Smith scored the equaliser for Barwon Heads.

Surf Coast visited Surfside Waves and overcame the home team 4-2. Scott James allowed Surf Coast to close the gap, netting a brace for Surf Coast while his companions Marcus Jablonski and Jay Christou followed up with singles apiece.

Breakwater Eagles hosted and smashed Barwon Blue in a dominant 6-0 win at the White Eagle Club. Branden Duthie led the charge scoring a hat trick and was ably assisted by Michael Doolan, Keegan Maguire and Troy Van Den Broek who all scored singles apiece.

Elcho Park Cardinals hosted Bell Park at Elcho Park in an easy matchup for the visitors who came away winning 4-1. Sahin Gorgu managed to register a hat trick for the second week in a row, while Cagdas Ozay scored a single for Bell Park.

The final game of the weekend was played between Geelong Rangers and Deakin Ducks Black. The score line favoured Geelong Rangers 5-2 thanks largely to a Ben Noble hat trick. Drew Corry and Dale Harris both netted singles apiece to bring the Rangers’ total to five for the game.

Following the completion of Round 10, Deakin Gold leads the standings with 28 points, six ahead of Barwon Red on 22 points, with surprise packets Breakwater Eagles third with 20 and Geelong SC fourth with 19 points making up the top four.

In Round 11 action, the pick of the action is the clash between second placed Barwon Red and fifth placed Surfside Waves on Friday night at Grovedale Reserve. Kick-off is at 8:30pm.
