Under 20 Boys Round 4

Geelong Supercats 58 def. Western Port 24

Top Scorers: Z. Moore 12, J. Burnett 11, J. Edwards 9, S. Johns 9

Best Players: Not Supplied

Coach’s Comment: “Last week’s effort was repeated in this week’s game. We managed to score well early, and continued defensive pressure meant we kept ahead for the whole game, even with some patches of trouble converting at the basket. Sam Johns memorable three-pointer just before the half-time buzzer gave us a lift and we executed a disciplined game in the second-half. What could have been unsettling behaviour from the opposition bench and crowd (technical fouls and two ejections) drew us further together, and we rounded the game out clear winners.”

Coach’s Comment: “The boys played an all-round strong team game with every player contributing both in offense and defence, which resulted in a 31 point win. Offensively the boys played a great game with the scoring spread across the team. We had strong rebounding under the basket at both ends, and the boys put great defensive pressure on Melton causing a lot of turnovers that we were able to capitalise on.”
