Melbourne City Youth Team Trials
Melbourne City (Heart) Football Club together with the Gippsland Soccer League will again undertake a ‘Talent Identification’ for prospective Gippsland players into their National Youth League team for season 2014-15.
This will again be a fantastic opportunity for our Youth players to display their skills and the partnered initiative has been again endorsed and supported by the Gippsland Soccer League Board.
In 2013 there were seven players selected from the Gippsland Region to take part in stage two and three of Melbourne City’s trials and though no Gippsland players made the final selections, the experience for all involved was an invaluable one.
Melbourne City will be again sending its Youth Team Coaching staff to a scheduled ‘Practice Match’ which will be played at Latrobe City Stadium on Tuesday 5th August 2014, 7.30pm at Latrobe City Stadium, Morwell.
This match will be against National Premier League (NPL) Club Dandenong Thunder FC U/20’s.
As a prelude to this match we will also be conducting two (2) trial sessions, thus giving as many players as possible the best opportunity to display their talents prior and ensure we open up the identification process to as many of our most Talented Youth players as possible.
These trial nights are as follows:

Date: Monday 4th August 2014
Time: 6.30pm – 8.30pm
Venue: Fortuna 60 SC, Crinigan Rd. Morwell
As previously in 2013 we again are asking all GSL Club Presidents and Senior/Youth Coaching Staff to please forward this information to ALL players they feel meet the criteria of a Talented Player and have the potential to develop and progress to potentially the elite level of football in Australia.
Players legible must be born between: 1st January 1995 – 31st December 1998.
All interested players MUST register prior to the trials online via the GSL website before 5.00pm Tuesday 29th July 2014.
