Dear BMBA Members and Players,

As the 2015 year comes to a close, we wanted to take this opportunity to thank you all for being part of a fantastic year of basketball.  To all the teams that made Grand Finals, congratulations on a tremendous effort.

At the recent AGM held in November, Committee Members Peter Matthewman, Grant McMillan, Julianne Tirkkonen resigned from their positions.  Michael Watson renominated and was appointed as Treasurer, and Mark Grundy and Sarah Thomson nominated and were appointed as General Members.  At the AGM the positions of President, Vice President and Secretary were declared vacant.  Recently, Catherine Farley has been nominated and appointed into the Secretary role.  We are still looking for nominations for the President and Vice President roles, along with a couple of subcommittee positions such as fundraising, sponsorships, website / social mediate communications.

The Association cannot function without you, the members, getting involved (or getting someone you know involved).  With close to 1000 kids registered to play with our Association, there is a lot of work that goes on behind the scenes at both the Association and Club levels.  So come be a part of something special, or simply attend the meetings to have your say and help influence the decision making process.

BMBA Club Representatives - Leonie Hegarty (Panthers) / Tim Hansen (Saints) / Grant McMillan (Magic) / Liam Piacentini (Dolphins) / Kevin Hyde (Lightning).

The next Association meeting will be held on 20 January at BMLC at 6.30pm.  If you are interested in coming along to check out how things operate, or to consider nominating for vacant positions, please email bmba.secretary3340@gmail.com to advise of your attendance.

The 2016 Season will kick off with a Registration Day on Saturday, 30 January 2016, and fixed rounds starting on Saturday, 6 February 2016.  Stay tuned for further details.

On behalf of the New Committee, we would like to thank everyone that has been involved to date in getting the Association established.  We believe in the Association and are excited for the year ahead and what it will offer to our members, and most importantly, the players, our kids.  We hope that you all have a safe and happy Christmas / New Year and we look forward to what 2016 will offer.
