Under 11 Junior SOCCER CARNIVAL
An event for all Under 11 club teams in Central Queensland.
SUNDAY 31 August 2014
Commencing at 8.30am at Palm Drive Sports Fields, Gladstone.
A maximum of sixteen teams can be accepted so get your nomination in as early as possible.
The Format of the Tournament
The competition is based on a combined round robin / knockout style but with first round losers having a second chance to playoff and re-enter the draw to the final. The draw is limited to sixteen teams. Playoffs continue until all positions on the ladder are settled. Each team will play a minimum of four games, with a maximum of five games for the finalists. Preliminary games will be 15 minute halves with a 5 minute half-time break.
Finals will be 20 minute halves with a 5 minute half-time break. Games that end in a draw, except the finals, will be decided by penalty shootouts. It is a feature of this tournament that a result is achieved for all games.
Up to four fields will be used simultaneously with official referees controlling all games.
Normal soccer rules apply, that is, eleven-a-side games.
No overage players are allowed.
Presentations will take place at 3.50pm with the day completed by approximately 4.20pm.
A nomination fee of $40 applies to each team.
Teams are required to provide one teamsheet only prior to the first game.
A canteen will operate on the day.
Breakfast, lunch, drinks and refreshments will be available.

Talent Identification.
A selection panel of experienced Gladstone soccer people [“Talent scouts”] will select a 11 person team on the day from the best players from all teams. These players will be presented with a special carnival t-shirt on the day to acknowledge their achievement.
This event is conducted to provide financial support to local players achieving representative honours at country, state or national level. For further information contact the Carnival Organiser.
