Cadet referee program

Football Central Queensland has been preparing to introduce a Cadet Referee program for Junior Referees at Norbridge Park, to be coordinated by Eric Skinner, our Junior Referee Development Coordinator. We are looking to commence the Cadet Referee program after the May Day Weekend, starting on Saturday 7 May.

Under the Cadet Program, Juniors who have reached the age of 12 will be introduced to refereeing through mentored appointments to Miniroos fixtures held at Norbridge Park.

An experienced Senior Referee will work with each Cadet on the field, providing on-field advice and mentoring, as the Cadet Referees ease into refereeing.

It is intended to have the Cadet Referees officiating at U11 Miniroos games. Our intention is for successful Cadet Referees to be developed to the stage where they can sit their Level 4 Referee Courses, so they can be ready to referee junior competitive fixtures, once they turn 13.

For further information on the Cadet Referees program, or to nominate candidates for the program, please contact Steve Royse at Football CQ on 4922 4470 or via operationsmanager@footballcq.com.au.
