Sunshine Coast Women’s Samara Christmas, Sofie Persson and Danielle White have accepted invitations to train and play with Brisbane Roar’s PlayStation® 4 NPL Queensland Women’s side for six weeks.

White has been a regular throughout Fire’s season while Christmas and Persson have already combined for 25 goals.

The trio commence training with Roar on 8 June and will play on selected Wednesday evenings as part of the team’s participation in the U14 Boys competition.

Christmas, Persson and White make up a total of five Fire players to have been invited for development training in the last month.

Youth Women’s defender Holly Vidulich is currently in her second week of training with Brisbane Roar on a similar six-week program and U15 Girls’ midfielder Hannah Taylor has also been invited to train with the U15s State team as a train-on player.

Sunshine Coast Technical Director of Coaching Melvyn Wilkes congratulated the contingent.

"Having five girls from our women’s section identified by the State coaches and coaches from Brisbane Roar is a testament to the hard work and dedication that the coaches have put in thus far this season," Wilkes said.

"It is a credit to the club, which constantly supports and recognises the importance and value of having the girls’ and womens’ section as an integral part of Sunshine Coast FC."

While expressing his pride, Wilkes conceded the club would miss their talents should Westfield W-League contracts eventuate.

"As Technical Director, there is nothing more satisfying than to see a player from our club striving and looking to push on, although it does come at a cost of being the victim of your own success," he said.

"We wish Hannah Taylor, Holly Vidulich, Samara Christmas, Sophie Persson and Danielle White all the very best as they look to secure themselves a potential move on to bigger things."
