Sunshine Coast FC continue to build their squad for the PlayStation® 4 NPL Queensland 2016 season, confirming midfielder Grant De Chastel will return for a third year with Fire.

The 19-year-old becomes the second member of the 2015 team to return and the eighth player announced as Fire’s squad begins to take shape.

De Chastel made the jump to the senior team mid-season in 2014 and has remained an important fixture since, amassing 29 PlayStation 4 NPL Queensland appearances for the club.

He said signing on for a third season with Fire proved an easy decision to make.

“Fire has always been good to me and they’ve given me so much support to grow as a player,” De Chastel explained.

He added that he sees plenty of promise in the squad being assembled by Fire coach Paul Arnison, who is seeking to re-establish the team as a powerhouse in the competition after twice falling shy of a top four finish in recent seasons.

“The team is looking really strong, with the new guys coming in and the guys that are returning. It’s going to be a good season.”

“The local guys like Chris Jancevski and Jeremy Stewart are two of the best players in the Coast’s local league and I think they’ll make an impact next year,” he concluded.

Arnison explained De Chastel is precisely the type of long-term player that he wants in his squad moving forward.

“Grant is a great player to have on the field, he’s got a great attitude and is always delivering consistently good performances,” he said.

“He definitely earned his spot again for next season and it’ll be great to have him back,” Arnison concluded.
