This Sunday afternoon at Lions Stadium, the Football Brisbane Select team of the year will take to the field against our Sunshine Coast All Stars side in what promises to be one of the highlights of the football calendar for 2014.

Of course, it will be the last game before we all finally retire for the season so it’s fitting that it will be something unique and special to wrap up another great year.

With some of Football Brisbane's Select team representatives having prior post-season commitments, the team of the year as announced at the Gala Awards has undergone something of a re-shuffle, notably Coach Sam Saif has been called away to the UK and replaced by Warren Moon as coach. But the incoming talent on display is said to be a fantastic selection from the Trophy Superstore Premier League.

Football Brisbane quoted "Many of these players have never played together before and possibly will never play together again. It’s a one-off opportunity to see how they shape up against what promises to be a strong Sunshine Coast side gathered together from a league which is going through something of a renaissance period of their own if the standard of play demonstrated during the FFA Cup is anything to go by".
