SEFNL's inaugural Chairman, Kahl Heinze, will not be standing for re-election at the end of his term.
In a letter penned to the SEFNL Board and AFL South East Commission, Kahl said:
"I am writing to formally advise that at the AGM this year I will be formally resigning from the Board of SEFNL, the Chairmanship and therefore the AFL SE Commission too.
Quite simply after 15 plus years as an administrator I'm tired and my family and friends need me.
This decision has been coming for a while - I've given it a lot of thought. I feel that after 2 years the league is in good shape from a governance and Board perspective - and with time (hence the notice) - we can recruit the appropriate new Board members to the SEFNL Board.
My time working with you all on this wonderful venture has been fantastic and memorable - I look forward to a wonderful final series and going out in style !!!!!"
Nominations for Board vacancies will be sent out to clubs in November.
