Chuuk SDA School has Basketball Week

Coach Burns has been visiting the Chuuk SDA School throughout the week from 12 – 15 May assisting students with their basketball skills. With the assistance of Daichy Rudolph and other Chuukese coaches, close to 200 students of all ages from the school have been involved. The students have been taken through the basics of dribbling, passing and shooting.

The SDA school has excellent basketball facilities with a full length court, backboards and rings. Coach Burns said that “It’s great to work at a school with good facilities such as these and with kids that are so enthusiastic. It makes for an enjoyable time for all those that participate. Even the teachers seem to be enjoying watching their students run around the court.”

A special mention should also go to all of the girls from SDA school, especially from the High School. It’s great to see young women involved in basketball and we look forward to seeing many more women involved in this great game!
