Visiting Australian Basketball Coach Ryan Burns and his group of Chuukeese Assistant Coaches have been teaching basketball to the interested students of Mwan Elementary School. Throughout the week the students were arranged to meet at a local basketball court to be put through their paces. With the assistance of a number of assitant coaches all participants got high quality coaching from experienced coaches which really showed as the students improved throughout the week.

Coach Ryan Burns said that "all of the students have been very well behaved, they have listened well and followed instructions. It really makes a big differance to the quality of the sessions when we are working with a group of children with good attitudes and a strong interest in basketball. It was dissapointing that rain cut-short a couple of sessions, but i suppose that's how it goes..."

During the clinics the students covered the skills of dribbling, stopping, pivoting, passing and shooting. The students also participated in a number of different drills, games and matches of basketball.

A big thankyou to all of the assistant coaches who helped with translation for Coach Burns and for helping the kids to play the game that they love.
