Boston wary of challenge

BOSTON will be in top gear tomorrow evening at Ed's Court as they have their first round knockout tournament. President of the Raiwaqa Basketball Players Association Saula Koroi said he was looking forward to three days of stiff competition. Koroi said since Boston were the holders of the Tu Vili Cup, they were preparing for very tough competition, especially from the Veterans. The Veterans will be dishing out some old-school type play that will leave the younger teams reeling on the court. Mighty Mights will be fielding two teams, the Mighty Mights and the Mighty Sharks. These teams, made up of mostly under-20 national reps, will be a great threat to the older teams since they have been training since the beginning of the year. Bryce will field a new team called the Bryceland Bullets -- a combination of Bryceland team and Waidonu. Warriors too will be on their toes to win the tournament for their neighborhood. In the women's division, America-based star, Valerie Nainima will be featuring for Wednesday Crew. She has been assisting Basketball Fiji with the preparation of the under-20 women's team in the lead-up to the Oceania Youth Championship.
