Saints maintain clean slate

Experience helped Saints edge Barbarians in one of two exciting encounters in the third round of the Suva Basketball League at the Vodafone Arena on Tuesday night.

“It was a close game until the fourth quarter where Saints were able to pull away,” SBL president Leonard Whippy said.

“The only two unbeaten teams in the league now are Saints and Idaman.”

In the other feature match of the evening, Pac Harbour pipped Noobies in extra time after the game was tied at 27 all at full-time. Pac Harbour scored two baskets in extra time to win the game.

“We are happy with the competition thus far,” Whippy said.

“Some teams are still trying to work well together. But as the season progresses the level of competition should get better as a result of teams having played more games.”
