Peng opens Basketball Fiji's new office
NEW Era Development Company director Deng Peng officially opened Basketball Federation of Fiji's new office on Thursday.
Peng, the man behind the $500m New China City Project at Lomolomo Lautoka has a keen interest in the sport and was only too eager to be part of the opening.
BFA president Ned Taito said the new office was a step up from the previous one located at Selbourne St where the chief operations officer was confined to one desk and had to share with other sporting bodies.
"This is an investment into the future of basketball. The facility includes work stations for administrators, a conference room and space to conduct training. The location is also central to our training area which reduces costs for us," he said.
The new BFF office is located at Laucala Bay Rd on what previously was Laucala Bay Secondary School.
Taito said while Peng has not committed to anything as of yet for the sporting organisation, he had agreed to make some form of contribution in the near future.
