Drauniniuleka Debut

Viama Drauniniuleka made her debut as a bench official in her first international tournament at the 2015 Pacific Games. The Matawailevu, Nalawa, Ra native had to pull out from the national squad after being approached to be part of the referees’ team.

She is currently serving final exam at the games for her FIBA Level One referee license.
She is currently FIBA qualified bench official and qualified development coach and now is undergoing her test for FIBA referee. 

The 28-year old said it was a good experience for her in her first international tournament.
“This is another level of competition especially when you are an official and the game depended on you. “As a female this is a good opportunity for me to prove myself and get my license.”

Even though she pulled out from the national squad Drauniniuleka was satisfied with her decision.
Drauniniuleka has maternal links to Viwa, Bau , Tailevu and started her basketball career when she was at Swami Vivikenanda College in 2005.
