While Kate and Nandika are not the only "tall timber" in the squad, they are two of the youngest and therefore will gain from starting their development at a younger age. Basketball Fiji is initiating a Talent Identification System to identify players with potential to be involved in their National Development Program (NDP) and a major part of this system is to find tall, young people within Fiji. Already we have identified some 15 and 16 year old males who are in excess of 187 centimetres tall and while these young people have no basketball experience, they will be selected immediately into the Youth Development squads.
The future is looking bright for basketball in Fiji!
