Thousands of Miles Away From Home

Traveling from Guam is expensive. However, it is an opportunity to find out what else the world has to offer. Even though Guam is a U.S Territory, hardly anyone knows where Guam is. The question what is Guam is frequently asked, instead of where Guam is located. Now we go to the question that the local people are trying to accomplish – How can Guam be put on the Map? It is on the map for education and navigation purposes, but how can we add more reasons of why Guam is on the map? Well, the Guam Basketball Confederation and the Guam National Olympic Committee has taken small steps to putting Guam on the map for the sport of basketball.

The Guam Men’s National Basketball Team traveled to China to participate in the 2009 East Asian Games. It has been over 10 years since Guam sent a basketball team to participate in the East Asian Games. This is the same group that has recently won another Silver Medal for Team Guam during the Oceania Tournament in Saipan during the summer. We are rooting for them all the way from home.
