NBDO Workshop Day 2

Day 2 of the FIBA Oceania National Basketball Development Officer (NBDO) Workshop concluded today with NBDO’s taking in a nearly 12 hour work day.

The day started with a presenter Train-The-Trainer Course. This module emphasized on presenter evaluation. An intense and compressed course proved to be beneficial, having the opportunity to be recorded and evaluated. Another benefit to this course is it showed weaknesses and provided a fix for the said weakness with on the spot interviews and presentations.

Oceania NBDO’s also had the opportunity to have a sit down meet and greet with new FIBA Oceania Secretary General David Crocker. Mr Crocker was able to share the vision of FIBA and the pathways to get to that vision. He also shared his vision for FIBA Oceania the importance to establish a good relationship with our local NOC’s the push for 3x3’s competitions in our countries and funding opportunities were also reiterated.

A big part of the day was when fellow NBDO from Fiji Lai Puamau presented on “Event and Facility Management”, as he kept it very interactive and basically having the class help him start Fiji’s planning for the upcoming Oceania U19 Pacific Championships. Having us really dig deep on the thinking and establishing the contents needed to plan that event.

This NBDO Workshop is taking place in Canberra Australia at the Australian Institute of Sports and will run throughout the week.
