2016 SBL Fixtures Released

The State Basketball League has released the fixtures for the 2016 Season - (See PDF attachment below).

The 2016 season will commence on March 18 and round one will tip off in spectacular fashion with the Women’s Grand Final rematch of the Willetton Tigers and the Rockingham Flames, while in the Men’s competition the runner-up South West Slammers will get their first look at redemption when they host the reigning Champions the Joondalup Wolves.

The Stirling Senators will open the season in front of a huge crowd at their newly renovated and impressive home venue ‘Warwick Stadium’ when they host rivals the Lakeside Lightning.

Due to renovations to the Mandurah Aquatic and Recreation Centre, the Magic will host all of their 2016 games out of Rockingham’s home venue at Mike Barnett Sports Complex.

The Perth Redbacks have moved home to the Belmont Oasis Leisure Centre after a trial year at Curtin University in 2015.

After this years hugely successful inaugural mid-season North v South SBL All-Star games, the event will be back again on the WA Day Public Holiday of Monday June 6, bigger and better as the SBL looks to surpass this year’s amazing effort of $60,000 raised for Youth Focus in the aim to prevent youth suicide.

The SBL Pre-Season Blitz Tournament will take place from March 4-6 at the Bendat Basketball Centre where all teams will play off in a number of exhibition matches before the regular season tip’s off on March 18.

The WSBL Grand Final is scheduled for Friday 2 September with the MSBL Grand Final to be held on Saturday 3 September both to be played in front of capacity crowds at the Bendat Basketball Centre.
