Women's SBL Player of the Week

THE week five Women’s SBL Player of the Week has been awarded Candace Williams of the Lapa Brazilian BBQ Restaurant Cockburn Cougars.


On Saturday night the Cockburn Cougars took out their second win of the season with a convincing 98-67 away win over the South West Slammers on the back of an amazing individual performance by import Candace Williams.

 

In only her second game this year, Williams was unstoppable for the Cougars scoring a game high 30 points and pulling down 16 rebounds with 3 assists, a steal and a block.

 

Candace Williams a recruit out of New Hampshire University, after two games in the SBL is now averaging 27.5 points and 15.0 rebounds per game, leading the league in both categories.

 

With the experienced John Triscari at the helm and the import combo of Cherridy Thornton & Candace Williams, the Cockburn Cougars will be sure to improve on their current record of 2 wins and 4 losses.
