Travis Moore Appointed as SBL Commissioner

The State Basketball League is pleased to announce former 450 game player, Travis Moore has been appointed as our newest SBL Commissioner.

After 21 seasons in the SBL and over 450 games with the Rockingham Flames including two seasons with the Willetton Tigers, Travis retired from playing at the end of the 2015 season.

The Rockingham Flames SBL Show Court at Mike Barnett Sports Complex was named in his honour after playing 400 games with the club.

Moore now joins the SBL Commission bringing with him a wealth of experience having been involved in the competition since 1995 as a player.

“I am very pleased to be invited to be a part of the SBL Commission.  It is a great opportunity to give back to the sport that has given me so much over many years.

It will be fantastic to understand the inner working of the league and have an opportunity to provide input into its future direction” Moore said.

Travis joins former Player/Coaches Andy Stewart, Fleur McIntyre and Stephen Charlton on the Commission along with BWA Chief Operating Officer Christian Rice and SBL General Manager Adam Bowler.

In his professional life Travis specialises in Human Resources and is the Deputy Director of People Services at Curtin University while also currently studying for a Masters in Business Administration.

On behalf of the State Basketball League, Congratulations Travis on your appointment and we look forward to having you on board.
