2011 NSW Inter-Service Basketball Tournament

 Held at Randwick Barracks over the weekend of the 3 - 4 September

Mens Comp - Navy, Army, RAAF Williamtown, RAAF Richmond and a  Pool Team that consisted of a mixture of RAAF and Navy players  - each team played each other in a round robin comp and the top two teams played the final - "it was a tough comp for the guys having to play so many games over two days and even tougher for the two RAAF teams who made it to the final.

Mens Final - RAAF Willimatown beat RAAF Richmond 43 - 30. "An excellent game that saw the RAAF Richmond team just run out of legs in the second half . The Williamtown boys really took it to the Richmond boys, their teamwork a highlight of the game with all team members contributing to the points scored and at the end of the day this is why they come out on top." Richmonds LAC Ash Condon and AC Adrian Duran equal top scored with 14 points each and Williamtowns SGT Glen Solomon and LAC Kevin O'Sullivan scored 10 points each

In third place was the Navy, 4th was the Pool team and the Army came in fifth.

Mens tournament top scorer was LAC Ash Condon with 71 pts

Womens Comp - RAAF (plus 1 Navy player), Navy / Army combined team - "by mixing the teams up a little we were able to raise the standard of the womens games to a level I haven't seen at Inter-Service for over ten years". The RAAF team marginally beating the Army Navy combined team in all three games. Notable performances RAAF - LACW Kate Johnston and FLGOFF Claire Mooy        Navy / Army  -  Private's Amanda Mitchell  & Leah Toner

Womens tournament top scorer was LACW Kate Johnston with 68 pts

Inter-Service is a pre curser event to the ADBA Combined Services National Competition to be held at Williamtown 26 Nov - 4 Dec. "if player standards at Inter-Service are anything to go by NSW will defintiely be Championship contenders for 2011"

Due to the numbers and success of this years competition next year we plan to run Inter-Service over 3 to 4 days if we get similar interest
