Rumaillah beats Power Horse in thrilling 3-point game-ender

 

 

 

DOHA: The rainbow territory shot at the right corner converted by Jerico Cortez of August Tailoring/Rumaillah with 30 seconds left had made all the difference to lift their hard-earned victory over Power Horse Energy Drink, 71-67, at the continuing elimination round of Western Union Cup 2012, presented by McDonald’s Qatar, powered by Alicafe of Pinoy Basketball Qatar.

The loss had put the chances of Power Horse in jeopardy that they need to win all their remaining games at the eliminations if they want to stay in contention at the weekend action at Al Gharafa Training Gym.

Power Horse had actually led by a single point, 66-65, as a result of a basket through an under goal stab by Joker Camson with 40 seconds left as the team smelled victory only to be wiped out by the difficult three-point shot by Cortez.

August Tailor’s small forward Michael Paderes was also the big factor for their win since he was unstoppable when he started to wax hot in the second half that he sparked up the momentum and change the complexion of the game.

In another exciting game at the Division B, Exova finally made their way into the win column after three games in the elimination after dumping GDLS/Strykers, 85-50. The losing team continued their losing streak that put them on the cellar standing.

It was a sweet victory for Exova that give them good chances to catch up and gave them the fighting chance as the eliminations is nearly wrapping up.
