DOHA: A costly inbound pass by Michael Paderes of Mindoro Spartan which was stole by Jhun Bolo of LBC Kentz turned out to be the crucial turn over tat leads to their heart breaking defeat in the end game, 63-56, even the match was tight all throughout the game in the ongoing elimination rounds of Travelex Cup 2013 of Pinoy Basketball of Qatar (PIBAQ) at Al Gharafa Training Gym over the weekend.

TCC Stars-Gerry’s Grill, on the other hand, continued its winning streak by conquering an equally strong Dukhan Ballers-PCSI Specialist, 82-69, after they pulled away in the remaining minutes with the brilliant all-around play of Ronnie Cajayon who led his team with 20 big points.

The absence of CJ Casas of Dukhan Ballers-PCSI Specialist could be a big factor in their loss and shared their four wins and one loss league leading standing with TCC Stars-Gerry’s Grill.

Ertibat/CEG International trounced cellar dweller Gilas Nahkowh, 64-55, after they lead all the way to a lopsided game.

The game between Mindoro Spartan and LBC Kentz was tied at 56-all with still one minute left when Spartan’s Poldong Rodriguez committed a duty foul to Raphael Vallado who converted two free throws.

Paderes’ bad pass caused a safety led for LBC Kentz when former Philippine Basketball Association player Arnold Calo sank in a three-pointer with 11 seconds left after the team cleverly used their 24-second offense.

Friday’s game was graced by Arch. Jhin Tabuzo, chairman of United Filipino Organization, to announce before his fellow countrymen about their plans to co-host the 3rd Ambassador’s Cup in February 2014 featuring the 40 all-star players of the PIBAQ league.

Tabuzo cited PIBAQ as the only Filipino basketball league which can successfully manage the successful holding of the Ambassador Cup which has drawn hundreds of Filipino basketball fans.

In the Non PIBAQ games, TFCMI won with a 13-point edge over Smeet PreCast 58-45, Arab Engineering Bureau won over KALEV, 75-51 while Pampanga team won over MCM with a thirty one-point lead, 86-55.
