Qatar Kents beats McDonalds

DOHA:   TEAM QATAR Kentz defeated Team Mcdonalds (Ooredoo) with a four-point advantage, 87-83, during their recent encounter at the ongoing Pinoy Basketball of Qatar (Pibaq) 18th Season Men’s Championship Cup U-18 Division held at Al-Gharafa Training gym.

The tandem of Adrian Manalo and Don Tabol, contributing 30 points and 29 points respectively, paved the way for the victory.

Both teams started strong in the game. At the start of the third quarter, team Mcdonalds was even enjoying an eight-point advantage. However, the strong defensive tactic of their opponent and aggressiveness of Manalo and Tabol on the hard court prevented them from scoring further.

On the other hand, team Kentz piled on points until they managed to tie the game at 48. From then on, it was a seesaw match between the two teams. The third period, however, wrapped up with kentz claiming the top spot by mere two points, 67-65.

The final quarter kicked off with a two-point shot made by Manalo that shows the confidence of his team in bagging the victory. Led by Baguinang and Fajardo, Mcdonalds tried to catch up and even managed to take back the lead with 7 points advantage. But their luck ended with less than 5 minutes in the clock and only managed to basket 2 points.

While Qatar Kentz kept on piling points courtesy of Manalo, Ella and Tabol until the final buzzer.

In another featured match, Dukhan Ballers bagged a big win against Boracay Restaurant with the final score, 69-12. Brian Cabacungan, with 13 points, Sean Reyes with 19 points, were the heroes of the team of Coach Clark Avila.
