Men's Basketball: Yap Defeats Chuuk
Team Chuuk and Team Yap faced each other on Monday night at COM National Gymnasium for Men's Basketball.
In the first quarter, Chuuk took the lead (28-26). By half-time the lead still remained with Chuuk (47-46). By the third quarter, Yap stepped up and took a 7pt lead to end the quarter (74-67). Yap broke loose in the 4th quarter, taking the victory (101-85). Despite the final score, the game was very close - with the lead changing 17 times.
Yap had several double digit scorers: Eddie Fasug (13 pts), Jamal Ranganbay (14pts), Zachary Gajdusek (18pts), Aru Skilling (20pts), and Trevor Phanouay (23pts).
Chuuk's top scorers were: Richard Roby (10pts), Maksever Kepwe (17pts), Giveme Cheipot (18pts), and Action Aiashy (18pts).
