Throws Coach James Goulding arrives from Fiji today to attend the PNG Games in Kokopo where he will conduct some coaching clinics and assist deliever a basic coaching course. Goulding is a past Pacific Games Champion in the Javelin and currently coaches Leslie Copeland from Fiji who qualified for the London Olympics and has a personal best of 80.45metres in the Javelin. Copeland was ranked 13th in London 2012 from a field of 44 athletes.
"James has experience as a Sport Development Officer for both Fiji Sports Council and for Oceania Athletics" said Athletics PNG Presisident Tony Green." He is also a qualified IAAF lecturer and we are delighted that he was able to come to PNG and share his extensive experience with us".
Mowen Boino also arrives in PNG today from Vanuatu and will travel to Kokopo to assist Athletics PNG deliver a number of programmes. Three time Pacific Games Gold Medallist in the 400m hurdles and three time Olypian Boino has vast experience in International competition and will be on hand to assist in a number of areas." Mowen will conduct hurdles clinics for PNG development squad members, officiate at the Games and assist with hurdles component of the coaching course, said Green.
